It was a sad weekend when Kiki suddenly came to our house looking very very skinny and weak. Her coat looked dull, very unkempt and she looked very tired, different from her happy self.. We didn’t know what illness she had, and there was no veterinarian clinic which open on weekend, so we decided to take her in and set up an emergency temporary cat house for her in our basement, so she and Telon would only have minimal contact, separated by a door.

We tried giving Kiki some food and water but it was like she couldn’t bear to have any. She sniffed and sniffed and seemed like she wanted to eat & drink but something in her just kept stopping her. We finally managed to syringe fed her a tiny bit of water & food, and checked on her every two hours.

Unfortunately, her condition kept deteriorating.. 😭 She finally passed away in my husband’s embrace, after giving us her first and last meow.. A very beautiful, melodic almost singing like meow.. as if she was trying to thank us for caring for her on her final moments or something.. 😭 Kikiiiii.. 😭😭😭😭😭 Innalillahi wa innailaihi roji’un..
