At least three opposition parties have expressed their intention to run for Jalan Kayu District, a newly divided single-selected district may have a multi-angle war. Huang Lingling, a member of the Ang Mo Kio Constituency, who is currently in charge of the zoning affairs of Jalanga, expressed her welcome to the competition and emphasized that no matter who takes part in the next general election, the People's Action Party is ready to fight.

After attending the opening ceremony of Tzu Chi Dialysis Center in Wanguo Wan on Thursday (March 13), Huang Lingling said in an interview with reporters that the PAP has always emphasized team spirit, and members of the same constituency district will help each other. She will continue to take care of the existing residents and strive to get to know the residents included in the new single constituency district.

As for whether to play in the Jalanga in the next general election, she said that it will be decided by the leadership of the PAP: “Where to serve is not important, the focus is to do the best within the scope of ability. No matter where I am, I will try my best to serve the people.”

After the report of the National Constituency Review Committee was released on Tuesday (11th), at least three opposition parties, the People's Alliance, and the People's Power Party have expressed their intention to send personnel to the battlefield.

In response, Huang Lingling said: “As a member of the PAP, I welcome competition. This is part of democracy. Whether it is a one-on-one, a triangular war or even a four-corner war, we are ready.”

Huang Lingling, 53, was elected as a member of Congress for the first time in 2020 and has many years of experience in social service. She served as Managing Director of Singapore Charity Fund and currently serves at the local private equity fund Tower Capital Asia, where she is responsible for sustainability and community affairs.

Huang Lingling is also the vice chairman of the government's Congress Health Committee and often speaks in Congress on various health issues, especially mental health issues.

The new Jalanga is surrounded by the district of Punggol River, Tampines Expressway, Yang Chugang Road, Sengkang West Road and Sengkang West Road.

Huang Lingling revealed that the Jalanga, which she is currently in charge, has about 47,000 voters, which is much higher than the average national 28,500 people responsible for each member of parliament in charge. The number of voters in the single constituency district of New Jalanga is 29,565, and the proportion of parliamentarians to residents is ideal. If there are five members of the Ang Mo Kio Constituency, it means that six members of the Ang Mo Kio Constituency serve residents in the original Ang Mo Kio Constituency.

State Counsel Lee Hsien Loong posted a message through the Facebook page of the People's Action Party's Tei District Branch on Wednesday (12th) that although Jalan Ka is divided into a single-session constituency from Ang Mo Kio, he is still a member of the Ang Mo Kio family and promised to continue to take care of Jalan Kay after the general election.

Since its establishment in 1991, Lee Zizheng has been in charge of the PAP's “iron vote”. Currently, the other three members of the Ang Mo Kio constituency are Jayle David, Yan Tianbao and Natiya.
