A prominent Russian nationalist survived an assassination attempt that Moscow is blaming on Kyiv.
Zakhar Prilepin was seriously wounded when the car he was riding in blew up near Nizhny Novgorod, a city 250 miles east of Moscow. His driver was killed.
Authorities said they arrested a suspect. Russia’s Investigative Committee released video of a man saying he carried out the attack on instructions from Ukraine.
Ukraine’s SBU security service said it could neither confirm nor deny involvement.
Prilepin is a writer and vocal supporter of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. He is the third prominent pro-Kremlin figure targeted by a bomb since the conflict began. The two others were killed.
