Hong Kong could start recognising Covid-19 vaccination certificates issued by the Philippines and Indonesia as early as this month.
This would allow domestic helpers inoculated in their home countries to enter the city amid severe local shortages of the workers.
But tensions continued to simmer with outspoken Philippines foreign minister Teodoro Locsin Jnr revealing on social media he would “formally ask” Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam why her officials had been refusing to accept its vaccination records for entry.
