Hong Kong is expected to come under a cold, dry spell this week, with the northeast monsoon bringing down the temperature to about 14 degrees Celsius by Wednesday morning.
The Observatory said on Tuesday that the mercury would fall significantly overnight under the influence of an intense monsoon.
The weather will be “rather cool” on Wednesday morning, according to the forecaster, with the minimum temperature in urban areas predicted to be about 14 degrees, and even lower in the New Territories.
By Thursday, the temperature in urban areas could dip to 13 degrees.
