It’s that time of year again. The prestigious #WestminsterKennelClub Dog Show is happening for the next few days at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City, showcasing the finest canines from across the globe.

Take a look at some of our favorite portraits of dogs from this morning’s show.

There are over 3,000 dogs representing more than 210 breeds competing against each other this year, according to organizers.

The competition focuses on evaluating each dog against its respective breed standard, which is a detailed description of the ideal specimen of each breed, including factors such as size, coat, color, temperament, and movement.

There’s also breed judging, group judging, and the prestigious Best in Show.
