Le Yucheng studied at Jiangsu Tourism School in his early years. After graduation, he worked in Nanjing Tourist Hotel. In 1982, he entered Nanjing Normal University to study, specializing in Russian language and literature.
In 1986, Le Yucheng joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and successively served in the Eurasian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation, and the Policy Research Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Le Yucheng was appointed Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2011, the Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2013, and the Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of India the following year.
After returning to China in 2016, Le Yucheng assumed the position of Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee and was elected as an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee in October 2017.
In 2018, Le Yucheng returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as a deputy minister.
