The major generals who were awarded in 1961 were: Yang Silu, Zhang Xiong, and Jiang Zhong.

The major generals awarded in 1964 were: Wang Fuzhi, Chen Shaokun, Wen Bang, Zhang Zhongru, and Tu Tongjin.

Among the 14 founding generals, the youngest is Wang Fuzhi, the deputy commander of the former Urumqi Military Region, born in 1923.
