Track cyclist Sarah Lee Wai-sze steered Hong Kong to its first gold medal at the 2021 National Games of China after victory in the women’s sprint on Monday.
Racing in her fourth National Games, it was the second time that the star rider clinched a gold medal after defeating long-time rival Zhong Tianshi, of Shanghai, 2-0 in the best-of-three finale.
The last time Lee won gold at the National Games was in 2013 when she came first in the keirin in Shenyang.
