China has unveiled the world’s “most powerful” hydraulic cylinder for marine pile driving in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. With a thrust power of 5,000 tons, it could theoretically lift 1,000 adult African elephants, according to local reports.
Created by the state-owned China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), this 92-foot-tall cylinder, roughly the size of a ten-story building, marks a breakthrough in China’s manufacturing capacity.
Designed to bolster marine infrastructure by linking rivers and seas, this powerful cylinder could also advance offshore drilling and deep-sea wind power facilities, drawing global attention to China’s growing marine engineering technology.
