The Singapore Police Force officially launched a short-term volunteer service program, with a total of 20 positions for the public to apply based on their expertise and interests, allowing them to cooperate with the police in different ways and contribute to maintaining our country's security.
Sun Xueling, Minister of Government of the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Social and Family Development, officially promoted the “Episodic Volunteering Programme” (EVP) at a volunteer exchange meeting in the police force on Saturday (March 8).
Short-term volunteer service projects are a brand new skilled volunteer service plan within the police force volunteer system, mainly carried out in the form of short-term tasks or projects.
There are a wide range of positions available to the public, including fitness consultants, social media content creators, Facebook live hosts, academic researcher on cybercrime prevention strategies, etc.
Since its trial in November 2023, the project has attracted 56 volunteers to participate and covers 16 functional areas. Most positions are temporary, while some positions can be allowed to participate remotely according to needs.
