The government will arrange family mentors and medical staff for vulnerable families, tailor health plans, and create healthy living habits.

Cai Ruilong, the Ministry of Social and Family Development and Senior Deputy Governance of the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, said on Monday (March 10) that the authorities will work with other departments to further support the beneficiary families of the “Enhanced Community Contact Program” (ComLink+).

The Ministry of Social and Family Development and the Ministry of Health will arrange family mentors and medical staff to support ComLink+ families in the next few months. Make plans based on individual family needs, create healthy living habits, help them exercise regularly, and have physical examinations.

Medical staff and family mentors will also assist families with more complex health needs, formulate health action plans, and assist families in prioritizing the required health needs, taking countermeasures, and obtaining medical services.

For example, for patients with chronic asthma, remind him to take medication on time, have regular physical examinations, consult a respiratory expert or general practitioner, and adjust his lifestyle and family environment, such as helping family members quit smoking, keep their home clean, and avoid allergens that cause asthma symptoms.

At present, the authorities have hired 260 family mentors, and are expected to achieve the goal of hiring 300 mentors in the second half of this year.
