A coffee imported from Malaysia was found to contain aphrodisiac ingredients. The Singapore Food Bureau advised the public not to buy or take it, and asked sellers and suppliers to stop selling immediately.
The Food Bureau issued a statement on Monday (March 10) saying that a product called “Kopi Penumbuk” contains the aphrodisiac ingredient tadalafil.
“Kopi Penumbuk”, hailed as a coffee product and claims to improve male sexual function. The product is sold on different local online shopping platforms, and the authorities have cooperated with these platforms to delete information about the product and warn relevant sellers.

Tadanafil is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction in men and must be diagnosed and prescribed by a doctor before it can be taken. Improper use can increase the risk of adverse reactions such as heart disease, stroke, headache, palpitations, arrhythmia and abnormal penis erection, and is more harmful to people with heart-related diseases.
The Food Bureau warns that sellers and suppliers with products containing banned or powerful drug ingredients will face severe enforcement actions.

According to Section 15 of the Food Sales Act, if anyone sells unsafe or inappropriate food, the first offender may be fined up to RMB 5,000, and the second offender may be fined up to RMB 10,000, or imprisonment for up to three months, or both.
