Screenshots of reminding the public to be careful of the scam “Register Register and Select the List” have been circulated recently. The Election Bureau pointed out that the screenshot was not sent by the authorities, and this screenshot has been circulating since 2023.

A photo was recently circulated on social media and chat app WhatsApp, which is a page that seems to be similar to the Election Bureau website, said that as long as you click on the link to the page, you can help voters register in the voter's book again. However, someone also wrote on the screenshot “Don't click, you may lose all your deposits. Be careful, this is the latest scam.”

In response to this, an Election Bureau spokesman said in response to the Lianhe Zaobao inquiry on Wednesday (February 19) that the above information did not come from the authorities, “However, the background in the information seems to come from a screenshot of the Election Bureau's 'Voter Services' page, This screenshot was also circulated during the 2023 presidential election and last year.”

A spokesperson suggested that voters can view their profile on the roster by going directly to the voter service page of the Election Bureau’s official website (www.eld.gov.sg), or the Singpass app. If you cannot view it online, you can check it at the People's Contact Center or Club, as well as the ServiceSG Service Center, or make an appointment through the Election Bureau website or call 1800-225-5353 to arrange for a check-out at the Election Bureau.
