The Kranzhi Bend waste treatment factory, which had four fires in seven years, was issued a closure order by the Construction Bureau.
The Wah & Hua factory at 11 Kranzhi Bend caught fire at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (February 19). This is the fourth time the factory has fired in seven years. The National Environment Agency has intervened in the investigation. .
The Singapore Construction Bureau responded to the enquiry of Lianhe Zaobao, saying that the construction bureau engineers inspected the fire scene on Thursday (20th).
The fire caused the collapse of the metal roof of the single-story warehouse and part of the two-story office building. However, the buildings in the surrounding area were not affected.
In addition, the Construction Bureau will issue an order to the owner to close the affected buildings and appoint professional engineers to provide advice, take immediate precautions to conduct detailed investigations, avoid dangers, and propose permanent restoration plans.
