Zhang Changlong, the third-generation head of Sihaizhan, a Singaporean historical white rice importer, passed away at home in the early morning of Sunday (February 23), at the age of 81.

Zhang Changlong is a leader of my country's Chinese community, the permanent honorary president of the Eight Eight Eight Association of Chaozhou, once served as the Prime Minister of Yi'an Company, and one of the founders of the Chaozhou Federation of Singapore. He also served as the Finance Director of the China General Chamber of Commerce and was also the Chairman of the Chaoyang Association, and served for 20 years.

Born in 1943, Zhang Changlong inherited his father Zhang Sichuan's enthusiasm for the Chinese community. He has contributed money and efforts to the Chinese community for many years and actively promoted education and the traditional Chinese cause. He was also one of the directors of the Singapore Clan Association.

Manager Lin, who has worked in Sihaizhan for many years, was surprised by his boss's death. “He only attended the inauguration ceremony of Xiudeshan Hall on Saturday morning and told me about donations. Unexpectedly, he received a call from his wife at 8:30 this morning to tell me this bad news.” Zhang Changlong is a Buddhist. He has been donating money to Xiudeshantang for many years.

In an interview, Ma Tingmao, the voluntary manager of Yi'an Company, said that Zhang Changlong's participation in non-governmental organizations is not only about spending money, but also spending time participating in meetings of these clubs, providing opinions and opinions, and deeply regretting his death.

Ma Tingmao, who served in Chaoyang Hall with Zhang Changlong, said: “Zhang Changlong believes that he will insist on doing what is right. It is understood that Zhang Changlong has been in poor health in recent years, and his kidney function is dysfunctional and requires dialysis. However, he also goes to Sihaizhan Company once or twice a week. Most of the company's business is now taken over by two sons and one daughter. The eldest son Zhang Mianyao also inherited his father's business and served as director and other important positions in many Chinese organizations.

Zhang Changlong's coffin was held at No. 43, Lidun Road, Holland Road, and the funeral will be held next Thursday, leaving behind an 81-year-old wife and three children.
