After the closing of the market on Tuesday (February 25), Wilmar International announced that it would appoint Li Huiling, 54, as a non-executive independent director, with her term of office effective April 22.
Li Huiling is currently the president of the Chinese Media Group of New Press Media, and is in charge of Lianhe Zaobao and its digital website, Xinming Daily and other media affiliated to the Chinese Media Group. Since joining Lianhe Zaobao as a reporter in 1994, Li Huiling has served as a Hong Kong Special Commissioner, Beijing Chief Special Commissioner and China News Director in the Chinese Media Group, and became president in December 2021.
Fengyi International said that Li Huiling's joining will assist the group's board of directors' perspectives, abilities and skills, especially her insights on current affairs in China, and promote the diversification of the board of directors' professional areas, gender and age.
The group's share price closed at 3.13 yuan on Tuesday, down 1.57%.
