The Xinjou Metro has begun to lay tracks and related equipment in full swing. About half of the railway system projects have been completed. The track projects connected from the Johor Wadihana Car Factory to the Woodlands North Metro Station in my country are expected to be completed in July this year.

RTS Operations (RTSO), which is responsible for operating Xinjou Metro, invited Singapore and Malaysian media to visit Wadi Hana's car factory for the first time on Wednesday (February 26) to introduce the progress of Xinjou Metro construction.

RTSO was jointly established by my country's public transportation operator SMRT and Malaysian National Infrastructure Company. In September last year, it took over the car factory and began to lay tracks with a total length of about 5.3 kilometers.

A car factory built specifically for Xinjou Metro covers an area of about 14 acres (nearly 56,700 square meters). In addition to parking trains, mild and severe repairs such as correction and renovation will be carried out in the future, as well as train cleaning.

Currently, the factory track engineering has progressed by more than 65%, including the installation of concrete sleepers and operating rails, and fixed with fastening clips.

Next, the team will carry out system installation projects in stages at the vehicle factory, two stations, viaducts and tunnels, with the traction power supply, signaling and communication systems first, and subsequent system testing and debugging will continue until about the third quarter of next year. Expand the trial run again.

The Xinjou Metro is scheduled to be opened to traffic at the latest by the end of December next year. Passengers can take the subway from Woodlands North Station to directly reach Bukit Chaka Station. The journey between the two stations is about five minutes, and 10,000 people can be carried per hour.

After full activation, the number of operation and maintenance personnel is expected to reach about 200.

The first train has been assembled and tested at the Zhuzhou factory

Dr. Ahmad Marzuki Ariffin, president of RTSO, said that Xinrou Metro purchased eight trains from CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Company, each with four carriages. The first train has been assembled and tested at the Zhuzhou factory and is ready to be shipped to Malaysia.

As for the fare, Mazuki said that the details will be announced only when they are about to be opened to traffic, and more information cannot be disclosed at present.
