The loan shark was suspected of being a debtor who threw eggs at home and was arrested by the police.
The police said that at 8:05 pm on February 24, the authorities received a report of loan shark harassment in a residential unit on Yishun Ring Road.
After investigation and using the police's electronic video, the Woodlands Police Office officers learned the identity of the man involved in the case and arrested him the next day.
Preliminary investigations show that the man is also involved in several cases of loan shark harassment across the island. The 39-year-old man involved in the case was charged on Thursday (February 27) for violating the lender's law.
Once convicted, first-time offenders will face up to five years in prison, fines of RMB 5,000 to RMB 50,000, and up to six whippings.
