Yang Jiamin, the “No. 1” in my country's badminton women's singles, narrowly defeated the fourth-seeded Denmark's Mia Blichfeldt in the semi-finals of the German Badminton Open (Super 300) on Saturday (March 1) Singapore time, and won a long-lost final place.

Yang Jiamin, who was listed as the top seed in the tournament, went through two fierce battles and finally defeated Mia 21-19 and 22-20. Yang Jiamin will face the winner between Japanese players Shi Liko Jun and Ruan Chuiling (Vietnam) in the final.

In this German Open, Yang Jiamin first defeated Mia's compatriot Amalie Schulz in the round of 16, and defeated Japanese 19-year-old Akitori in the rematch.

The last time Yang Jiamin reached the final was in the Helo Badminton Open in November 2021, but lost to Thailand's best player Busannan in the final.
