In order to help reduce the burden on drivers, Gojek, the second largest private car hiker in the local area, once again extended the driver fees charged to passengers for three months until June 30 this year.
Currently, when passengers use the Gojek app to call a taxi, in addition to paying the fare and platform fee, they also have to pay a driver's fee ranging from 5 cents to 8 cents, depending on the distance of the car. After Gojek charges this fee, he will not deduct commissions, but will give it to the driver in full.
Gojek announced on his official website in January this year that it will extend the driver's fee until the end of March this year, and now it will extend the relevant fees again until the end of June.
Each taxi platform operator has different charging methods. Since the Platform Personnel Act came into effect in January this year, due to the increase in operating costs, many platforms have gradually increased platform fees, but not every operator has charged driver fees.
One of the operators, TADA, had earlier announced that the driver's fee, which was originally scheduled to expire on December 31 last year, will be extended to June 30 this year. TADA's driver fees will be charged 5 cents to 8 cents per trip, and will also be fully refunded to the driver to subsidize operating costs.

Newly registered commercial private car hikes must retain passengers for three years

Starting from November 2023, Grab will directly give the temporary driver fee to the driver in full. The period for charging driver fees has been announced several times until June 30 this year. The relevant fees are all 5 cents. Grab said that he will review again whether the charges will be extended as June approaches.
Another operator, Ryde, has no relevant fees. As for passengers who use the Comfort High CDG Zig app to call, they don’t have to pay the driver’s fee.
Chen Jiayi (43), an accounting manager who calls a taxi at least once a week, pointed out that he knew that many operators have increased platform fees since January this year, but because the company can reimburse the fees, the number of rides has not been reduced. She said that compared with the car fee exceeding 20 yuan per trip, the driver's fee of about 50 cents per trip is still acceptable.
According to the Platform Personnel Act, platform personnel born after January 1, 1995 must pay provident fund, and the platform operator will also pay the amount of provident fund to be borne. The payment rate of both parties will increase year by year until 2029, which is flush with the total payment rate of employees in other industries, that is, 37%. Platform personnel over 30 can choose whether to join.
