Youth is not only the master of Singapore's future, but also the creator, and has a part to write the next chapter of our country. In the year when our country celebrates the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Youth Movement of the People's Association will devote 1 million hours to volunteer services and contribute to the community with practical actions.

The 95 youth contact networks under the Youth Movement of the People's Association will promote different community projects in the areas they serve, establish connections with Singaporeans, and complete millions of hours of volunteer service.

The People's Association will provide them with funding, and each youth contact network can receive a maximum allowance of RMB 3,000 to implement the projects they plan.

The People's Association launched the PA Youth Charter on Saturday (March 1), which contains youth's commitment and action plans for promoting mental health, maintaining racial and religious harmony, as well as protecting the environment and supporting sustainable development. Prime Minister and Finance Minister Huang Xuncai announced new volunteer service goals and related allowances in his speech at the promotion ceremony.

Premier Huang said in his speech that our country's survival has never been guaranteed. And in this increasingly complex and unstable world, it is not a matter of course to continue to succeed.

The Youth Movement of the People's Association began at the end of 2023. Through the “Youth Creation of the Future” (FutureYOUth) program, it hosted 212 dialogues, group discussions and exchange activities, and spent 15 months to listen to the opinions of 127,000 young people.

These young people are between 15 and 35 years old and come from higher education institutions, Islamic schools, uniform groups, initiatives and religious groups, including those with disabilities and detained youth.

Prime Minister Huang revealed that the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the National Youth Council plan to engage with more youth in the future to develop a broader youth plan. Details will be announced in the future.
