The People's Association will allocate more than RMB 300,000 to the 106 local women's executive committees to promote more innovative community projects, promote community participation of women, and provide more comprehensive support.
Chen Ying, an adviser to the Women's Integration Network Council (WIN), a senior minister of state development and foreign affairs, announced the above news at the Women's Day event on March 2.
Chen Ying explained that the SG60 “People Association Participation Allowance” launched for the 106 Women's Executive Committees nationwide is aimed at mobilizing more women in the community and implementing new ideas and plans. “With the resources, we can work with individuals or different groups of residents who advocate for various social issues.”
Chen Ying also called on individual women's executive committees to recruit at least 10 women this year to promote new plans or expand existing plans to benefit women and families. These women can bring a multiplier effect and drive more women to join the Women's Executive Committee.
In addition, under the Better Me, Better Us program, the Association of People's Association has added eight new community projects, from the original 24 to 32, including health assistance, such as gynecological problems, breastfeeding advice, and parenting tips.

The “Better Self, Better Us” plan was launched in 2020. It aims to gather women from different backgrounds through various projects to help them learn knowledge about health, parenting, financial management, and other women-related topics. There were only seven projects initially planned, but the number of projects continued to increase over the years.
To help Women's Executive Committee provide more meaningful and targeted projects for women and families in various communities, the Association of People's Association also launched a guidebook at its Sunday event.
