In the first three rounds of Community Development Council Neighborhood Shopping Voucher Program, local families donated nearly 2 million yuan to more than 200 registered public welfare institutions.

The institutions that receive the most donations mainly involve animal welfare, children, families and adolescents, health care, and assistance to people with disabilities.

The above information was revealed on Monday (March 3) when Congress responded to Usha Chandradas, the Minister of Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister of the Ministry of Justice.

Tang Zhenhui said that the CDC Vouchers Donation Initiative is one of the measures taken by the Council to promote the construction of caring and inclusive communities. The government announced the plan in December 2022 as part of the Council Neighborhood Shopping Voucher Program for 2021 and 2022.

He said the program provides access to Singaporean families by donating unused neighborhood vouchers to the Institutions of a Public Character that participates in the program. The public welfare areas these institutions participate in cover multiple fields such as animal welfare, arts and cultural heritage, children and adolescents, environmental protection, immigration groups, and people with disabilities.
