The government has increased its support for the overseas market immersion program to cultivate more local business leaders; the beneficiaries of this program will increase from 400 to 700 per year.
Dr. Chen Shilong, Minister of Human Resources and Second Minister of Trade and Industry, made the announcement Thursday (March 6) when he participated in the Ministry of Human Resources Expenditure Budget on the Congressional Appropriations Committee.
The Overseas Market Immersion Program, implemented by Singapore Enterprise Development Authority, Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Information Communications Media Development Authority, helps companies develop local business leaders through overseas dispatch and participation in leadership courses; this program is designed for professionals in multiple industries, early-stage or mid-stage leaders.
Locals and families who are expats will also receive more transitional support, including help in housing and education.
Among them, owners of HDBs who have not reached the minimum living period but must be dispatched, if they have a clear and reasonable return schedule, they can apply for protection from the Housing and Development Bureau.
