The iconic cherry blossom exhibition by the Bay Garden celebrates its tenth anniversary. From now on, 440 cherry blossom trees will be exhibited in the Flower Dome, covering 48 varieties, setting a record for the best in history.

This year's Cherry Blossom Festival is unprecedented in scale, integrating many Japanese themed events and specially launched Anime Garden to bring visitors a rich and diverse cultural experience.

The Cherry Blossom Exhibition officially opened on Sunday (March 9). The ceremony was co-chaired by Chen Jiehao, Senior Minister of Government of the Ministry of Digital Development and Information and the Ministry of National Development, Luo Zhiwei, Director of the Marina Bay Garden, and Hotta Toru, the agent of the Japanese Embassy in Singapore.

A team of 50 cosplayers from Singapore, Japan and Thailand parade from Flower Dome to Supertree Grove, bringing together the celebrations of the anime garden to present a visual feast.

This cherry blossom exhibition is co-organized by the Japanese Embassy in Singapore. It leads visitors to explore the cultural treasures of Fukuoka. The exhibition area is specially replicated in the historic Kokura Castle in Kitakyushu. 130 bamboo lanterns arrive in Singapore from the annual Kokura Castle Takeakari in Kitakyushu City, and will be lit at the flower dome at night.

Last year, Marina Bay Garden allowed tourists to enjoy “Yozakura” for the first time, and this year it once again brought a night viewing experience. Fukuoka City’s iconic light and shadow art installation, the 5.6-meter-high “Phantom Castle”, will create an immersive night cherry blossom atmosphere for visitors.

In addition, visitors can enjoy traditional crafts in Fukuoka Prefecture, including Hakata and Tsuyazaki dolls, Kokurao, etc., and watch Japanese tea ceremony performances in the next two weekends.

Flower Dome is the only place in the world where visitors can enjoy numerous cherry blossom varieties at once. Since its launch in 2016, the Cherry Blossom Exhibition has attracted more than 2 million tourists.

In conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the founding of Singapore (SG60), Marina Bay Garden launched the SG60 “Wonder Blooms” pass, allowing Singaporean citizens and permanent residents to enjoy more than 60% discount, and unlimited visits to the six flower exhibitions in the Flower Dome.
