Another local incident of fire burning cars! A motorcycle was swallowed by flames on the sidewalk, but fortunately no casualties were found.

The accident occurred at around 3 pm last Friday (March 7) at the junction of Gorofort Street and Qiaobei Road.

According to videos circulating on social media, the motorcycle stopped on the sidewalk when it caught fire, and flames swallowed the car's body and thick smoke came out of the scene.

When responding to the enquiry by Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore's Civil Defense Force confirmed that it had received a notice that firefighters used a compressed air foam backpack to put out the fire, and no one was injured in the accident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

This is the fifth known car accident in my country last week.

At about 2:10 pm on March 2, a Porsche sports car was on the branch road leading to the Kallang-Paye Lebar Expressway (KPE). After hitting four cars in a row, it overturned and burned. A 37-year-old man, Lu Zhonghao, was trapped in a car and was unfortunately burned to death.

Three days later, at about 7:15 am last Wednesday (5th), a car caught fire on Jurong West Road next to the 515th HDB flat in Jurong West 51st Street. Witnesses said that the car was smoking first, and the owner got out of the car and found a fire extinguisher to try to put out the fire. Other drivers who drove by the scene also got out of the car to help, but the fire became more and more intense.

At 7:20 am last Thursday (6th), a Marseille fire broke out on the section of Tampines 31st Street to Simei, but fortunately no one was injured.

At 6:15 pm on the same day, a single-decker passenger bus caught fire on the section in front of the exit of the Kranzhi Expressway. The bus commander and 11 passengers had been evacuated before the firefighters arrived, and no one was injured in the accident.
