A subway passenger accidentally dropped his phone off the track and crossed the platform screen door to the track to try to retrieve the phone. Fortunately, other passengers saw this and pressed the emergency stop button to let the train entering the station stop in time. In the end, there was no danger and no one was injured.
Metro SMRT posted on Facebook on Friday (March 14) that the accident occurred at about 8:15 am on Thursday (13th). A passenger was facing the platform west of Wenli Station on the East-West Line. He saw someone climbing over the half-high platform screen door and running to the track, so he hurriedly pressed the emergency stop button.
Lan Xiaokai, president of SMRT Metro, said that fortunately, the emergency stop button was started in time, and the train entering the station stopped in time, and the person who broke into the track was not injured. The staff also immediately intervened, detaining those who broke into the track and calling the police.
Lan Xiaokai stressed that the authorities take this incident seriously. Trespassing into the track will bring serious safety risks, and the trespassing person is likely to be hit by a train or be hit by a high-voltage electric shock from the track.
“This reckless behavior is not only life-threatening, but it can also cause service interruptions and affect many passengers. In addition, passengers on the train may also be injured when the train is braked urgently.”

650 people got off the bus after spontaneous combustion in the subway.

SMRT's post did not disclose the gender and identity details of the person who entered the track, but it is understood to be a man.
SMRT reminds that for everyone's safety, passengers should stay away from the track. If anything falls into track, you should seek help from staff instead of trying to take the risk to pick it up. For safety reasons, passengers drop items and can only be retrieved after the train stops running that day.
“We thank the passengers for their cooperation to ensure the safety of everyone and the smooth journey.”
