There are 11 giant “pencils” art installations that are taller than people stand in the Punggol Waterfront area, and another “pencil” lying horizontally for the public to rest, adding more vitality and fun to the community.

This is one of the art installations added by the Urban Reconstruction Bureau on Punggol Waterway since March. The other two are installations designed with crocodiles and natural elements such as dragonflies and butterflies.

The Municipal Development Bureau issued a statement on Saturday (March 15) saying that inclusive and sophisticated public space design elements are crucial to creating a livable and likable living environment. “This design supports active life, promotes community connections, and also adds a unique element to the neighborhood.”

The Punggol Waterfront is 4.2 kilometers long and has three new art installations. It is the winning work of the Municipal Construction Bureau held the “PLAY@Punggol” design competition earlier. A total of 81 works participated in the competition. The design challenge is to take into account the user characteristics and usage habits of designated locations, as well as the location characteristics.
