The Silent Struggle of Senior Cats: A Call for Support and Transparency in Veterinary Care

As the number of senior cats with chronic illnesses continues to rise, the medical bills pile up, reaching into the millions each year. The purpose of treatment and care is to give these senior cats a better quality of life, but the costs are staggering.

Since 2022, the medical expenses for a senior cat named 周全 (Zhōu Quán) have not been fully covered. Despite the efforts of the medical team, the cat’s condition remains uncertain.

Zhōu Quán’s story began in 2016 when he was first brought to the association. However, it wasn’t until 2022 that his health began to decline rapidly. In June of that year, a wound was discovered on his right front paw, which was initially thought to be caused by a cat fight. However, after several days of treatment, the wound failed to heal, and further examination revealed a tumor.

The tumor was removed, and Zhōu Quán was prescribed steroids to manage the condition. However, he still requires ongoing care, including regular check-ups, medication, and a strict diet.

Zhōu Quán’s story serves as a reminder that even small wounds can be indicative of a larger health issue. Early detection and treatment are crucial for a successful outcome.

To support Zhōu Quán’s ongoing medical expenses, the association is seeking donations. The total amount needed is NT$103,000, which can be donated in various ways, including credit card payments, bank transfers, and tax-deductible donations.

Donations can be made through the association’s website, and all contributions will be used to support Zhōu Quán’s medical care. Every little bit counts, and your support will help make a difference in the life of this senior cat.
