The splashing area of the Yagbaras Children's Garden in Singapore has reopened after six years of closing, more than tripled the space and many new facilities have been added to allow visitors to enjoy the play time more happily.
The National Parks Administration issued a statement on Tuesday (February 25) saying that the renovated water splash area is about 500 square meters, more than three times the original one. The remodeled area provides children with a fun and immersive way to interact with nature while playing and learn about natural environmental processes such as water circulation.

The water area was renovated after it was closed in 2019. The expanded water area vividly presents the principle of water circulation, demonstrating the key role of plants in transpiration and rainfall formation. Various interactive water feature elements, such as foggy areas, wading pools, and fountains of different jet modes and heights, allow children to explore and play.
The statement pointed out that facilities such as umbrella fountains and splash buckets simulate “rainwater”, while the water columns sprayed upwards demonstrated “evaporation”. Children can observe the water flow from high to low on small hills and mounds in splashing areas to understand the concept of “runoff”.
In addition, the water area also has interactive signs to further explain these natural environmental processes and make children's learning more vivid and interesting.
Jacob Ballas Children's Garden is open to children under 14 years old, while the water area is suitable for children aged two to 12 years old. The Parks Department reminds that children must play under the custody of adults.
