Suspected of avoiding the pursuit of law enforcement officers, a minivan broke out of control at the intersection and rushed onto the sidewalk, and a large number of tax-eliminated cigarettes were found in the car.
The incident occurred at about 4:45 am on Thursday (February 27), at the junction of the Sanbawang Passage and the Admiralty Passage, near Building 354C.

Photographer of Lianhe Zaobao arrived at the scene at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday. A gray minivan rushed onto the curb and hit a low wall. He slung on the sidewalk, and the hood fell off from the front of the car. Police pulled up the blockade line to prevent the public from approaching, and several police cars were parked by the roadside. At least four police officers and a law enforcement officer counted tax-evaluated cigarettes on the sidewalk, and then packed them into boxes.
Because the incident happened in residential areas and near traffic lights, it attracted many curious attention from the public. At 7:46 am, law enforcement officers moved the tax-evased cigarettes to the Singapore Customs Bureau vehicle and carried them away as evidence of the case.

When asked, the Singapore Civil Defense Force confirmed that it had received a report of a car accident and one person was taken to Qiu Deba Hospital.
