Urban Development (CDL) announced on February 7 that it has appointed Yang Yufang and Huang Suyan as independent non-executive directors. Information disclosure of urban development websites, the former has an accounting background and has rich professional knowledge in finance, auditing and financial management; the latter has rich experience in corporate strategy, organizational change, human capital and leadership development.
Yang Yufang's first job was as an accountant and auditor at KMG Kendons in Wellington, New Zealand. She has accumulated extensive experience in Hong Kong, London and New Zealand.
Yang Yufang has served at Credit Suisse for 21 years, serving as managing director and finance director of the Asia-Pacific region. She has also held senior positions at Solomon and Consumer Accounting Firm (now PwC, PwC).
Currently, she is also an independent non-executive director and a member of the Audit Committee of Telechoice International, a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of Samaritans of Singapore (SOS), and serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Investment Committee at the Singapore Children's Cancer Foundation.
Yang Yufang holds a bachelor's degree in business and management from Victoria University of Wellington, and has been a chartered accountant from the New Zealand Institute of Accountants. She was also a senior member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

On the Urban Development Board, Yang Yufang is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Sustainable Development Committee.
Another newly appointed independent director, Huang Suyan, has rich experience in corporate strategy, organizational change, human capital and leadership development, and has covered high-tech, professional services, media, education and public fields, and has accumulated more than 30 years of industry experience.
Huang Suyan serves as an independent director of several listed companies and institutions, including CSE Global Limited, First Resources Ltd, Yoma Strategic Holdings Ltd, and an independent director of the Information and Communications Media Development Authority (IMDA).
Previously, she served as the independent non-executive chairman of Nera Telecommunications Ltd and served as a director of Mediacorp and NTUC First Campus.
She graduated from Linfield University with the highest honors with a bachelor’s degree in music and computer science from Linfield University in the United States and received her Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina.
In terms of qualifications as a director, she is a senior director certified by the Singapore Institute of Directors and has completed the “Chairman Leadership of the Board” course in the European School of Business Administration (INSEAD).
In addition, Shuang Suyan is also a member of the Australian Institute of Corporate Directors and Young Presidents' Organisation. She also serves as a visiting professor at the National University of Singapore, as well as an academician and first female chairman of the Singapore Institute of Directors.
Currently, she is a member of the Urban Development Board Nominations and Remuneration Committee and the Sustainable Development Committee.
