A maixiang cookie produced in Malaysia was ordered to recall by the Singapore Food Bureau because it did not indicate the milk ingredients on the food packaging label.

The Singapore Food Bureau issued a statement on Friday (February 28) saying that the affected product is the 200g package of Happy Family Mai Cookies, with a shelf life until November 30. Given that milk is an allergen, the Food Bureau has instructed importer CMM Marketing Management Sdn Bhd to recall the above products. The recall is underway.

The Food Bureau notes that allergens in food may trigger allergic reactions in sensitive populations. According to Singapore’s food regulations, food packaging labels must indicate ingredients that may cause allergies to protect consumers, especially those who are allergic to specific foods.

The Food Bureau reminds that except for consumers who are intolerable or allergic to milk, the above products will not pose food safety risks to general consumers. Consumers who have purchased affected products and are allergic to or intolerant to milk should avoid consumption. If you have eaten and have concerns about your own health, you should seek medical treatment as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact the purchasing channel for consultation.
