The ongoing conflict in Gaza reflects the current situation in the world. Premier Huang Xuncai reminded that the world is entering unknown waters, and only by maintaining unity can our country sail smoothly.

Prime Minister Huang, who is also the Minister of Finance, made a rare speech on the situation in Gaza when he visited the material packaging event organized by the non-profit organization Singapore Renxin on Sunday (March 2).

He stressed: “Gaza may be far away, but we cannot turn a blind eye to the local humanitarian crisis. Our shared humanity makes us empathize with the suffering of civilians.”

He stated that our country will do its best to provide assistance to Gaza. Singaporeans and Singaporeans have donated more than 19 million yuan to Gaza. Our air force recently also sent the seventh round of rescue supplies to Jordan for further delivery to Gaza. Our country will continue to cooperate with partners in the Middle East to assist Gaza in responding to urgent needs.

In addition to providing humanitarian assistance, my country is fully supporting international efforts to build homelands and countries for the Palestinian people and to use this as part of the consulted bilateral programme.
