Our country urges Israel and Hamas to quickly reach an agreement on the second phase of the ceasefire negotiations.

Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement in January this year, and the first phase of the agreement ended on Sunday (March 2), but the second phase of negotiations between the two sides are in a stalemate.

Dr. Meng Liqi, Minister of the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Education and Foreign Affairs, said on Monday (3rd) that my country welcomes a phased ceasefire and hostage release agreement, which provides a glimmer of hope for Gaza civilians to move towards the peace they dream of.

“The first phase of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement has officially ended. We urge all parties to quickly reach an agreement on the second phase,” he said.

At the same time, humanitarian assistance must be continued to alleviate the severe situation in the area. Meng Liqi is deeply concerned about Israel's announcement to suspend the provision of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies to the Gaza Strip.
