Starting next year, you can get a subsidy of 40,000 yuan when purchasing electric heavy vehicles. If you install charging piles at the same time, you can also get a 50% grant, up to 30,000 yuan.
To promote electrification of heavy-duty vehicles, the Land Transportation Administration has launched the Heavy Vehicle Zero Emissions Scheme, which will fund the purchase of zero-exhaust vehicles from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028.
Currently, my country only has electric vehicles, a heavy vehicle with zero exhaust emissions, and in the future, it can include other types of vehicles such as hydrogen fuel cell-driven vehicles.
The allowance is automatically distributed in three years. Each heavy vehicle with zero exhaust emissions can be received 13,000 yuan. You will receive an additional 13,000 yuan in one year, and another 14,000 yuan in two years, a total of 40,000 yuan.
According to a statement released by the Land Transportation Bureau on Wednesday (March 5), the allowance applies to trucks and buses with a maximum load capacity of more than 3,500 kg, including vehicles with dual-purpose delivery and passenger capacity.

There are about 52,000 heavy vehicles locally, accounting for about 31% of the total carbon emissions of land transportation. Of the newly registered heavy-duty vehicles last year, only 0.9% of buses excluded from buses were electric vehicles, while electric buses accounted for 12.6% of all new buses.
In contrast, about one-third of the new cars registered last year were electric cars, and this proportion further rose to 38% in January this year. About half of the newly registered light trucks are electric trucks.
As more commercial electric heavy-duty vehicle models are available, the Land Transportation Bureau said it is time to promote electrification of heavy-duty vehicles and reduce land transportation emissions. This includes closing the cost gap in purchasing electric and internal combustion engine heavy vehicles, and funding the deployment of related charging piles.
Taking the 10-foot and 14-foot trucks as an example, the initial cost of electric vehicles is about 30,000 to 45,000 yuan more expensive than that of internal combustion engine models.
There are more than 19,000 charging points across the island
There are currently more than 19,000 charging points across the island, nearly half of which are open to all public.
Dr. Xu Lian-chan, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Environment and Senior Minister of Transportation, said Wednesday when debating the Ministry of Transportation’s expenditure budget at the Congressional Appropriations Committee that as of the end of March, 13 Housing Development Bureau neighborhood shopping malls and town centers will each be equipped with two 50 kW (kW) fast charging piles, and another 45 locations will also be added this year, including Serongang and Bedok town centers.
Under the new Electric Heavy Vehicle Charger Grant, if a company purchases at least one electric heavy vehicle and installs charging piles in its business premises, it can receive up to 50% of the installation fee allowance, with each charging pile up to 30,000 yuan.
The three-year allowance program starts next year and is limited to the first 500 charging piles, with a maximum of three at each location. Charging piles must also be installed in designated truhms or coach parking areas, with a minimum power rating of 50 kW.
Details of the application process will be announced later this year.
Electric vehicle universal charging pile allowance extended for one year
In addition, the EV Common Charger Grant, which aims to encourage the installation of shared smart charging piles in non-landed private residences such as apartments, will be extended by one year until December 31 next year. The total number of charging piles that can receive allowances has also increased from 2,000 to 3,500.
This allowance can be used to purchase charging equipment, hire electricians, and lay cables and install them. It has assisted more than 500 non-land private residences and install about 1,700 charging piles.
After the plan is expanded, although the additional 1,500 smart charging piles can also receive up to 50% of the allowance, the maximum limit is reduced from 4,000 yuan to 3,000 yuan.
