In order to improve the health awareness of more primary school students and help them develop good living habits, the Ministry of Health plans to pilot the personalized health care plan under the Thunder SG plan among some primary school students this year, and will be fully expanded to the fourth and fifth grades of primary school in 2026.
Minister of Social and Family Development and Second Minister of Health Ma Shangao announced the above news when debating the Ministry of Health expenditure budget on the Congressional Appropriations Committee on Friday (March 7).
In order to cope with the impact of bad living habits on children's health, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Social and Family Development jointly launched the Grow Well SG program in January this year.
This national program manages early four aspects of children's growth, including sleep, exercise, diet and the use of electronic devices.
Starting from January this year, the Ministry of Health will add personalized health plans to the physical health examinations of first-year to third-year primary school students.

Ma Shangao said that as of now, 22,000 first to third-year students have completed personalized health care plans, and the rest will be completed by the end of this year.
Starting from May 2, 2025, the Ministry of Health will add a new Childhood Health Behaviours Checklist to all comprehensive clinics, general practitioner clinics, and pediatric clinics.
He said the checklist is designed to encourage families to establish and maintain healthy living habits from birth to school age. “These small and continuous efforts will have benefits for the health of the child over time.”
