Low-income workers who are carers, including single parents with old and young parents at home, as well as caregivers with special children, can apply for assistance from the National Workers' Federation's Care Fund in mid-April to alleviate economic pressure.
In November last year, the General Secretary for Business announced that its U Care Fund will allocate a total of RMB 5.4 million from 2025 to 2027 to support low-income members as caregivers.
Secretary-General Huang Zhiming announced details about the aid plan while attending an International Women's Day celebration in Marina Bay Garden on Saturday (March 8). The celebrations on that day were organized by the Women and Family Affairs Office of the General Office of the General Office and the Women's Group of the People's Action Party.
The assistance program aims to help two groups of low-income caregivers: single parents with old and young parents, and carers with special needs, benefiting more than 4,000 people each year.
“The General Officer understands the challenges facing caregivers in balancing work and care responsibilities. Through the Care Fund Care Assistance Program, we hope to reduce their burdens and provide practical support to help them better balance work and care responsibilities.”
