A 50-year-old man who was arrested for robbery and injured is to be charged in court on Tuesday (March 11).

The Singapore Police Force issued a statement on Monday (10th) saying that the police received a notice at around 12:35 noon on Sunday (9th), saying that a robbery and injury occurred on Robinson Road.

Preliminary investigations show that a 33-year-old man was suspected of being attacked and slightly injured, and his bag containing 300 yuan in cash was also stolen.

After investigation and reviewing the video, police officers from the Central Police Agency determined the identity of the 50-year-old man and arrested him within eight hours of receiving the report. The police successfully retrieved the stolen 172 yuan of cash and bag.

The man will be charged in court on Tuesday. According to Section 394 of the Criminal Code, if a person is convicted of robbery and injury, he may be sentenced to five to 20 years in prison and at least 12 whips.
