All three major local bank stocks fell sharply, dragging down local stock markets. The Singapore Straits Times Index closed down 73.24 points or 1.88% on Tuesday (March 11), closing at 3825.83 points.

The local stock market had a total trading volume of 1.82 billion shares on Tuesday, with a total trading volume of 2.34 billion yuan. There were 220 rising stocks and 341 falling stocks.

In terms of the constituent stocks of the Sea Index, 10 rose, two remained the same, and 18 fell.

The largest gains in the Sea Index were Jardine Holdings (JMH) and Frasers Centrepoint Trust, up 3.40% and 2.90% respectively, closing at US$41.05 and RMB2.13.

The biggest declines were DBS Group (DBS) and UOB, down 3.53% and 3.41% respectively, closing at 44.23 yuan and 37.35 yuan. OCBC fell 2.11% to close at 16.69 yuan.

Asia-Pacific stock markets fall more and rise less. Taiwan's stock market fell 1.73%, Seoul fell 1.28%, Sydney fell 0.91%, Tokyo fell 0.64%, and Hong Kong fell 0.01%. The stock markets in Shanghai and Shenzhen rose 0.42% and 0.34% respectively.
