The ServiceSG Center, which has been established in 2021, provides a number of government services that are easy for residents to use. The tenth ServiceSG Center is expected to be put into operation in the Ang Mo Kio Town Center in the first half of next year.
Minister of Education, in charge of public services, announced the news when presiding on Saturday (March 15) when presiding for the opening ceremony for the ServiceSG Centre, located on the third floor of the Woodlands Civil Centre.
Chen Zhensheng emphasized that although the government's various services are moving towards digitalization, it will still serve those who are not familiar with technology through the ServiceSG Center and allow people with more complex situations to come to ask for help.
The concept of ServiceSG Center is to provide one-stop service under one roof. The Public Services Department currently has nine ServiceSG centers across the island, assisting residents in using nearly 600 services from more than 25 government departments and agencies. Last year, nearly 400,000 transactions were completed at these centers, including Singpass applications, provident fund nominations and transactions, as well as tax services.
Data shows that 70% of those who went to seek help last year were citizens aged 55 and above.
