Hougang Duoduo's “prosperous land” has also become a “bird-infested place”. The municipal council said it has taken action to resolve the problem and will work with the National Parks Administration to control the crow population.
The “Tongyifa” betting station, located downstairs of Block 685, Hougang 61st Street, has previously won 20 first prizes and became a prosperous place for Duoduo.
The Xinming Daily recently reported that residents of the 685th HDB flat and nearby HDB flats complained that starting half a year ago, the crows would be heard every day at about 6 o'clock every morning, which usually lasted until around 8 o'clock in the morning, and at around 5 o'clock in the evening, they flew back again.

In addition, bird droppings appear from time to time in the park chairs and parking lots, which makes residents worry that they will “win the first prize” at any time and that bird droppings fall on their heads.
Ang Mo Kio Town Council responded to the inquiry by email to the Xinming Daily that the authorities have paid attention to the crow problem there.

A spokesman revealed that the town association has sent a gardening team to the area to clear the crow's nests from trees.
In addition, a crow management operation will be carried out in the near future with the Parks Bureau, and the bird management team will be arranged to implement additional crow trapping work in N6 Park to take more targeted measures to control the crow population.
The spokesman said authorities will also send people to continue to prune trees and shrubs regularly to stop crows from nesting in the area and post notices in surrounding neighborhoods reminding residents not to feed crows. Authorities are also seeking cooperation among residents to tie the garbage bags tightly to prevent crows from foraging.
The spokesman said that the authorities will continue to pay close attention to the developments and take positive measures to ensure the environment is clean and safe.
