A 58-year-old man was charged in court on Thursday morning (March 13) for suspected murder of his younger brother at Wen Li Tao's home.
The defendant Abdul Rani Bin Mohamad Ariffin was charged in state court on Thursday (March 13). The defendant was quite tall and calm when wearing a white top through the video control.
The murder occurred in the early morning of March 11, on a 11th floor unit in Block 187, Wenli Road. The charge alleges that the defendant murdered the 56-year-old Abdul Rahman Bin Mohamad Ariffin at about 4 a.m. on March 11.
The deceased is the defendant's younger brother.
The prosecution requested the defendant to be remanded in court by Changi Medical Center in order to arrange for the defendant to undergo an assessment from the School of Mental Health.

According to the Lianhe Zaobao recently, the police received a notice at 11:35 am on March 11 that when they arrived at the scene, they found a 56-year-old man dead in the unit, and then arrested the defendant who lived with him.
When the reporter arrived at the scene, the police had already set up a blockade line on the 11th floor of the HDB flat, and the investigators continued to go in and out of the unit to investigate and search for evidence. The coroner carried the body out of the unit at around 5:30 pm and was taken away by a black car.
