The driver of the private bus was dissatisfied with the airport shuttle bus driver changing lanes, followed the other party and yelled insults, and was charged in court on Friday (March 14).
The Singapore Police Force issued a statement on Wednesday (12th) saying that it was reported at about 2:10 pm on January 31, 2025 that a dispute occurred at Changi Airport involving an airport shuttle bus driver and a private catching driver.
The investigation shows that the private catching driver was dissatisfied with the shuttle bus changing lanes on the airport boulevard, so he followed the bus and used his own private catching to block the bus's way in the bus parking area of the first passenger building of Changi Airport.
Then, the driver of the private car got out of the car, gestured to the driver of the shuttle bus and insulted him loudly. When the shuttle bus driver tried to drive away, the private catching driver allegedly kicked the passenger door in front of the bus and threw his cell phone at the bus in anger.
The police arrived at the scene to arrest the driver of the private car. He will be charged on Friday on public nuisance charges. He also violated the Prevention of Harassment Act (Public Service Personnel), and if he was convicted, he could be fined up to $5,000, or jail for up to six months, or do both.
