Ang Mo Kio Town Council has announced the five-year development blueprint to create a safe and vibrant space that is more suitable for the elderly and all residents to live in.
Some new developments in the future include planning for home improvements for more HDBs in the district, building covered corridors, implementing Silver Upgrading Programme, expanding bike lanes, and building new themed amusement corridors.
State Counsel Lee Hsien Loong delivered a speech on Saturday (March 15) to promote the five-year development blueprint, saying that residents can look forward to many new community improvement projects, but everyone needs to fully support and jointly implement this blueprint.
He also mentioned in Chinese: “In the past half century, the improvements in Ang Mo Kio District have been made in many aspects because of the major commissions given by voters to the government. We can proceed naturally and step by step. I hope that the efforts of the Ang Mo Kio Town Council will continue to receive everyone's support.”
Looking back on the five years of development in Ang Mo Kio District, including improving five markets and hawker centers in Ang Mo Kio, Mihua, Copenbaru, Chong Man and Jingshan; through the “Recreation of Our Home” (ROH) plan, community spaces, such as the New Acacia Bean Playground and Fountain.

The general blueprint is themed “Walking together, a Beautiful Home”, creating a more livable, inclusive and sustainable home for residents.

Also attending the event were Jerry David, Yan Tianbao and Natiya, Copenbaru Councilor Kwok Xianchuan, Yang Chuang, Yang Chuang District Councilor Ye Hanrong, former Councilor and second consultant to the grassroots organizations of Ang Mo Kio Constituency, Dr. Hua Su and Yang Dun-Ching, Yang.
Dajiele David, Chairman of the Ang Mo Kio Town Council, said: “The 'Walking Together, Better Home' is our commitment to building a town that truly cares about the people. Over the next five years, we continue to improve residences, strengthen communities and greening. This is to ensure that Ang Mo Kio remains a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming home for all.”
The existing Ang Mo Kio constituency is the largest constituency in the country with the largest number of voters. As of February 1 this year, the number of voters reached 190,800.
According to the constituency scope review report released on Tuesday (11th), some areas of this five-person constituency will be classified as the new Jalanga by the single constituency in the next general election.
